FAMILY

Back to blogging…

A wee catch up from our corner of the world, having well and truly fallen by the wayside with blogging over the past few months.

Finding a wee bit extra time in the mornings at the moment and loving the still of an early start at the farm, pottering in the barn just a little longer than usual before home to start the day.

Really enjoying the brightness of these April days and the gradual draw towards summertime again, a whole winter weathered once more and the extra daylight our reward ♥️.

Life is hurtling on at its usual unbelievable pace, and our little home is full and busy, with our little girl now 16 months old, walking and talking, or more accurately running riot and making us laugh every day, keeping us all busy!

My life has changed significantly in the time since she was born, and am settling into the new normal now, having not returned to my previous job after maternity leave, instead taking the chance to spend the weeks at home with our daughter; and also now being a couple of months into working part-time in a new job, just a couple of shifts at weekends, as a home carer. My care work is a huge new chapter for me, totally different from anything I’ve done before but something I’ve always wanted to have the chance to do, and I’m loving it and really enjoying finding my feet with it. My weeks at home with a now toddler too though, filling our days with learning and playing and watching the world be discovered through her eyes, are even more wonderful. It’s been great too finding a new balance that works for us all at home and finding the time for our little family, wider family, friends and the furry ones too.

My fluffball Charmer has had a great winter in many ways. Have managed to keep him ticking over with wee ambling hacks, he’s been in at nights in his stable but in better weather just 9pm-7am to give him plenty of time out moving in his field, living “horse”. Having avoided any repeat of the Beast from the East snowdrift drama of last year has helped a lot and it’s been much easier with a milder January – March! He has been keeping me on my toes a little in the last couple of months as we’ve tried to get on top of his arthritis, and a few X rays and investigations later we at least know exactly where we are with it. Just trying to keep him out and moving as much as possible, experimenting with medications and supplements and overall I’m delighted to see him happy and healthy and even enjoying a bit of daylight of an evening.

Jasper & Jet, our little rats, are two very distinguished gentlemen now, around two years and seven months and both much older in themselves the last few months, enjoying lots of cuddles and lots of treats, but overall doing well – putting up admirably with being the object of the little one’s affections and making the most of their oldie days. ♥️

Really glad to have found a wee bit of time to catch up on reading some favourite blogs here and have a scribble again, love being able to gather all our adventures into words and find the time to take stock of it all!

Hope you are all having a lovely week. X

♥️

    1. Thank you! Hope you’re well! Aw thanks but that view of the water is not from the house, it’s a little community garden not far from us – it is beautiful though, lovely to have it close by! X
