About

Life, loves and adventures from the little corner of the world I share with my family – my husband, our two young daughters, 26-year-old Fell pony, two cats, little adventuring hamster and fish!

“A Mischief Managed”

I first began this blog almost seven years ago now, writing initially primarily about the pets who made up our much-loved little family at the time – a furry blurry collection of rats, hamsters and my biggest fluffiest boy, the very characterful Fell pony. Its name was drawn from the “mischief of rats” who made up most of our little rabble back then. Over the years as life has moved on, our little family has grown and changed and we now no longer have a mischief at home, having lost our last elderly boys after almost a decade of keeping rats in the summer of 2019.

Life is, however, fuller than ever – I am so grateful still to be blessed with the pony who is now an amazing 26 years old, having been with me over 22 years now; and the last few years have been huge ones for us, with our human contingent growing every day – our little daughters, born in 2017 and 2020, now making sure that we are “managing mischief” more than ever before at every turn! ❤

We always kept a toe in the water too with small animals, with some lovely family hamsters over the past few years – currently have Buzz, our little baby dwarf hamster. In 2021, we brought home Rosie and Theo, two little black kittens who have turned into our roost-ruling cats, and also Fish, a 7-year-old goldfish. ❤

I have loved to have this little space over the past few years to write and gather thoughts about our adventures together and all the things I love most in life.

I now mostly write about our family life, both at home and at the farm, any travels we find ourselves on and some of my reading adventures too – there are lots more of these in particular and a reading journal at https://www.instagram.com/a_coffee_anda_book/

Thanks so much for stopping by. Xx
